New Year, New Habits

Image
Every year at this time people make resolutions so that they can become a better person. Whether physically, emotionally or mentally everyone wants to become a better version of themselves in he year and set unrealistic resolutions for themselves. Along with these unrealistic goals, most people give up trying to achieve them within the first month of the new year. I am not suggesting to be the same person you are now. Everyone should always try to be the best person they possibly can but try doing it in smaller amounts of time at a less intense rate. For this new year a resolution of mine would be, to be a healthier person . I know, I know its a cliché but its true! So to make this an easier task to take on over this next year, starting the first week of January (January 4th) I will not eat fast food for the rest of the month. This is going to be extremely difficult because I like eating fast food. I'm not saying I eat fast food everyday but when I do I enjoy it. So seeing w...

Facing Fears

Hello friends of the internet, many of us have been spending this last week with family and loving friends. As it was Christmas this past Thursday. For Christmas I received the book Girl Online , a novel that was written by a British Youtuber Zoe Sugg aka Zoella . I enjoyed the book, I am an avid book reader and in my humble opinion the book was well written. I love the book for many reasons. One: I relate to the main character so well. She is a teenager in 11th grade (or in Year Eleven as the Brits say) and she has many embarrassing moments. Many of us think that we are the only ones that are super clumsy and make of fool out of ourselves but we're not. We all go through the same stuff, its a matter of letting it take us down or not. Two: She has a blog! I'm not to sure how many teens are out there blogging about life to random people on the internet but I don't imagine a huge amount (and if it is I will be highly impressed). So the part of the book that I lik...

This season is especially known for the immense generosity and kindness that people show towards one another. I think that not just this time of yet but all year 'round, people should think of the less fortunate and help them. An easy and inexpensive way to do this is to make toiletry bags to give to the homeless. Filling a plastic ziplock bag with the items show above, is very simple and a quick way to help someone in need. Making a bunch of these and donating them to your local shelter is great! If you are able to bring joy to someone this season do it! What's stopping you? 4 more days to go!  Live ~Laugh~Love  Pinterest ~ Twitter ~ Facebook ~ Bloglovin

As Christmas and other holidays approach, many teachers love to give big projects and assignments over the break. Unfortunately in my case many teachers decide that its best to give us all the assignments before break, you may be wondering what I'm complaining about but if all of my teachers give me an assignment before break I only have a few days to compete everything. This, for the highly procrastinated student, equals a lot of stress. I am trying to balance all of this and in the end I know I will appreciate the stress free break like it should be. Happy Monday! 10 more days to go! Live ~Laugh~Love  Pinterest ~ Twitter ~ Facebook ~ Bloglovin

Blogmas: Day Eleven & Twelve

It's about that time when people ask what you want for Christmas and I don't know about you but I generally forget what I want and tell them I will give them an answer. I've learned in situations like this, it's great to go to the store when you want things or see something you like and take a picture and make a photo album of things that you potentially want for Christmas. This is also great for online shopping too, just take a screen shot of what your looking at. So next time you see something you like just snap a picture and send it to someone who's thinking of buying you something for Christmas.  Happy Friday!  13 days to go!  Live ~Laugh~Love  Pinterest ~ Twitter ~ Facebook ~ Bloglovin

Blogmas: Day Ten

So I live on the east coast of the United States, and unlike some parts of my country we go through seasons. The weather does not stay 85 degrees all year 'round. So with that said, the weather may go through seasons, I believe people have seasons as well, and this season I have been experiencing a sweet tooth! But this is not unusual for me, I could eat sweets all the time if I was allowed. The unusual part is that the specific kind of dessert I have been craving is.....ice cream! Now you can understand why the relevance of how the weather is where I live. It is currently 35 degrees outside with some chilly wind making it feel like it's 25 degrees. Although it is certifiably cold and a normal person would crave a hot food or beverage to keep them toasty, I crave ice cream! I went and bought the Friendlys vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cups and ate about two scoops ( I say about because I have no shame in saying I eat the ice cream right out of the carton). I may or ...

During this time of year I usually stay inside and don't venture off and explore but this year I want to create a bucket list of something's to do during December and over winter break. CAROLING I am not saying that I am the best singer but I do love Christmas songs. I think getting a couple of my friends and going around caroling in my town square would be cool to do. CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING Most towns have a Christmas tree lighting in their town square. I may have missed the one in my town but going to see it lit up on a winter's night is a good equivalent to me. ICE SKATING To be quite honest I have never been roller-skating and I am not sure if there is a skating rink where I live but I would love to try it out (probably would end up being an epic fail but who knows). BUILDING AN IGLOO Ever year me and my sister build a snowman or a wall of snow and have snowball fights but this year I want to take on the challenge of building an igloo! Depen...

Blogmas: Day Seven

The first week of December has already passed and if you haven't already you should probably have your Christmas tree up already. In my family we have an artificial, tree, not the most traditional but it does have its pros and cons. The pros are that we don't have to tend to it everyday or worry about pine needles. Some cons are that you don't have that fresh tree aroma filling up your house or the fun of going to the tree lot and picking one out. Every year we drag out tree from the basement and assemble it, not the most thrilling, compared to searching for the perfect tree at a lot. Aside from that decorating the tree is the other half of the fun! My mom is likes having a theme for the tree each year. One year it was burgundy and bronze this year it's gold with white/silver accents. We have gold glass bell ornaments with gold bows and white lights. We also have silver snowflakes on our tree as well as round gold ornaments. I am more of a colorful person, I love hom...

As it is starting to near towards Christmas, it only seems right to start Christmas shopping and finding gifts for your loved ones. Today I had the challenge of finding out what to get for my parents and sister. Living with them, gives me an idea of what they like and don't like. When I went to the store(s) today and I was overwhelmed with so many possible options to choose from, so many possible gifts to give. When going into a store there are advertised "gifts" for Christmas like; perfume & lotion sets for the ladies and ties or watches for the men. Then you have the actually items of the store, having all these options it was soon clear I was going to have some trouble choosing gifts. I conjured up a plan in my head to help me narrow down what to get them. As I was walking through the store I put any possible gift into my cart, now you may be saying that this is crazy and you will end up buying all the stuff any way but since I was on a budget it works...

Christmas season is officially upon us (after five days it is set in stone, obviously) and getting into the Christmas spirit couldn't be easier than listening to Christmas music. That feeling that you get when get when you connect completely to the lyrics of a song is how I feel with a Christmas song. Christmas songs just get me in a happy mood and since music has evolved there are many different genres of Christmas songs. Here are my top 10: I'm dreaming of a White Christmas It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year Carol of the Bells The Nutcracker All I want for Christmas is You Let It Snow Jingle Bell Rock God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen Greatest time of Year Silent Night Hope you get to checkout some of these songs and tell me your favorites.  20 more days to go! For this holiday many of us are trying to find the perfect gift for our friend or family member and sometimes this can be a challenge. Even knowing a person very well, being over whelmed with so many options to choose from can be difficult to pick the right one. I have some simple ideas to help guide you to the perfect gift for your loved one this holiday. Some bullet point for the ultimate gift are:  Keep it simple, if you don't know what to get someone don't go over board and buy them everything you think they might like but get them something that you think would best suit them. Also remember that it's a gift, although its a cliché it really is the thought that counts. As a continuation from my previous statement, don't just get any thing and wrap it up, especially not anything that is tacky or cheap many of us understand a budget but buying something that is useless and not meaningful is not worth buying or giving. If you are at a loss of what to ...

Blogmas: Day Three

Third day of December and by now you should have Christmas spirit! Decorating your room is an easy way to celebrate the holiday! Here are some easy ideas to will make your room look more festive. BANNER If you have construction paper, glue, hole punch, ribbon and some tape this DIY is very simple. All you have to do is cut equal sized prices of construction paper, cut out the letters of the word/phrase, glue it, punch the holes, weave through ribbon and done! CHRISTMAS TREE This is not the simplistic thing to make at first but once you get the hang of it it's really easy. All you really need is paper and siccors. Click the link on a tutorial of how to do this:  http://krokotak.com/2013/11/fold-a-fir-tree/ .  CANDLES Although these are not technically a decoration, the packaging on most holiday candles is festive. Two candles that I have my room smelling of Christmas and wonderful things are Pepermint bark and Gingerbread. These two candles smell...

The Christmas season is here! The one thing I love doing around this holiday is baking and eating snacks ( to tell the truth I love eating snacks any time of the year). I have a sweet tooth and my number one treat is chocolate, one thing that all these treats have in common. PEANUT BUTTER BLOSSOMS This snack is very delicious, the peanut butter and chocolate really compliment each other. I recommend eating them while they are warm! These cookies only take about 15 minutes to bake and I usually use a pre-made dough or mix. This goes great with a cold glass of milk.       PRETZEL, KISS and M&M This is the easiest thing that the person with "no cooking skills" could do (also known as me). All you need to do is lay out some pretzels, put some chocolate on top. Place in an oven at 350 degrees for about 1 min until the chocolate is soft but not completely liquefied. Take an M&M and put it in the middle. Since the chocolate is till warm I recom...

Blogmas: Day One

Have been really busy with school the last couple of months but I'm back on the blog! I've decided to celebrate everyday possible day of my favorite holiday on the blog, so I thought I would do Blogmas! This would be an adaption of Vlogmas, many Youtubers vlog everyday up until Christmas and post it on the internet. In place of a video I would write a blog post about it! This is a huge commitment and I am challenging myself to do it. I have a lot of things planned, so keep your eyes peeled! After the long intro, since November first I have been watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel, and I haven't stopped since! Now starting today on ABCFamily and the Hallmark channel is countdown to Christmas! Everyday they have a set list of movies for your entertainment and enjoyment and  highly recommend tuning in if you are as Christmas obsessed as me! Hope you guys are having a wonderful holiday! 24 more days to go! Live ~Laugh~Love  Pinterest ~ Twitt...
