Book Wishlist : Celebrity Books

I've said this many times before I consider myself to be an avid reader. There are a few books that I'd love to add to my personal library but these are all by famous people. A lot of people say that celebrity books aren't the best but I have a list of quality books that I think will be an interesting read.

All of these books detail experiences from the author's life. I think that all of the authors were very vulnerable in what they shared within these pages. Although I haven't read the books I have thumbed through some pages of these books and read reviews and also seen them talk about their books.

The Last Black Unicorn by Tiffany Haddish

"Tiffany can’t avoid being funny—it’s just who she is, whether she’s plotting shocking, jaw-dropping revenge on an ex-boyfriend or learning how to handle her newfound fame despite still having a broke person’s mind-set. Finally poised to become a household name, she recounts with heart and humor how she came from nothing and nowhere to achieve her dreams by owning, sharing, and using her pain to heal others."

Unfiltered by Lily Collins

"Lily shares her life and her own deepest secrets, underlining that every single one of us experiences pain and heartbreak. We all understand what it’s like to live in the light and in the dark. For Lily, it’s about making it through to the other side, where you love what you see in the mirror and where you embrace yourself just as you are. She's learned that all it takes is one person standing up and saying something for everyone else to realize they’re not alone."

In the Country We Love by Diana Guerrero

"In the Country We Love is a moving, heartbreaking story of one woman's extraordinary resilience in the face of the nightmarish struggles of undocumented residents in this country. There are over 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the US, many of whom have citizen children, whose lives here are just as precarious, and whose stories haven't been told. Written with bestselling author Michelle Burford, this memoir is a tale of personal triumph that also casts a much-needed light on the fears that haunt the daily existence of families likes the author's and on a system that fails them over and over."

A Beautiful Mind, A Beautiful Life by Lindy Tsang

"From humble beginnings as an outsider, growing up one of the few Chinese students at her primary school in Ireland, to YouTube stardom and her own line of beauty products, Lindy Tsang, aka Bubzbeauty, has earned a unique perspective that she’s shared with her nearly 3 million YouTube subscribers. In A Beautiful Mind, a Beautiful Life, Lindy details her childhood, her family, the ups, downs, and most importantly, the lessons that she’s learned along the way."

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah

"Born a Crime is the story of a mischievous young boy who grows into a restless young man as he struggles to find himself in a world where he was never supposed to exist. It is also the story of that young man’s relationship with his fearless, rebellious, and fervently religious mother—his teammate, a woman determined to save her son from the cycle of poverty, violence, and abuse that would ultimately threaten her own life."

This by no means is a comprehensive list but I think they are intriguing reads. Let me know what's on your wishlist to read in the comments below.
