Having flowers in a room adds a unique element of nature. For $3 I was able to make this beautiful (and long lasting) piece for my room. I used a couple flowers and a vase to accomplish this. Some things you will need; scissors, hot glue gun and glue, some flowers and a vase. I purchased the two bunches of flowers and the vase at a local dollar store. The vase I used was 3 1/2 inches tall (8 1/2 centimeters). For the look I wanted to achieve, I needed the flowers to be a bit taller so I used the scissors to cut them to 4 inches (10 1/2 centimeters). I used four yellow flowers and five pink to alternate colors. For additional assembly I used flower tape, which is green to match the stems of the flowers. I bunched the flowers together, alternating the colors, and used the tape to secure all the stems. I glued the flowers to bottom of the vase for a secure hold. For anyone reading my blog this lovely January evening, thank you! Many of you may not know that I am of Latin American descent. I am half Puerto Rican and half Dominican, for anyone that may not know these are Latin American countries that are in the Caribbean in between North and South America. I live in America with both my parents and my sister and we tend to slip away from our culture while living in America. Most people tend to adapt to the things around them after a while and I feel like we have fallen into this rut. El "día de Los Reyes" or Three Kings Day is celebrated in most Latin American countries. Instead of celebrating Christmas with Santa Claus coming down the chimney, they celebrate the Kings who visited Jesus after his birth and brought him presents. Since the trend of “Nerd” glasses came to be, many of us have gotten to wear them whenever we feel it’s appropriate with an outfit. Then there are some of us who have to wear them for everyday use (without them we couldn’t see). For me I need to wear glasses on an everyday basis.  When I’m going clothes shopping I love saving a little extra cash. Shopping sales and clearance racks are a great way to save money but believe it or not many of us may be doing it wrong. Here are some tips that you can use the next time you go shopping. Sales: ~When you walk into a store that has huge sale signs up always be alert. Many of us tend to grab a big load of clothes without thinking twice! This could be dangerous because some stores take a dollar or two off to make it seem, at a glance, that you’ve just gotten an amazing deal. ~When you find something that you like, decide if you want it or not. If you are thinking of getting an item, look at the original price and the sale price to make sure you have a good deal.  ~Decide "Do I really need the item?"
